I was so pleased to meet Rachel from Knocker Locker recently. She is passionate about encouraging women to do sport and, having found out that breast pain and discomfort were often reasons cited for them choosing not to participate, decided to do something about it. She’s developed Knocker Locker where you can get all the advice you need on how to choose the correct sports bra size and style to suit your breast shape and the impact level of the sport you choose.
Here’s what Rachel has to say:
“More than 50% of women suffer from breast pain, most commonly when participating in sports wearing a bra that provides insufficient support or is poorly fitting. There are a huge range of sports bras available now, but still women are not sure where to go, which style or ‘impact level’ to choose or what size they actually are (indeed, more than 80% of women are still wearing the wrong bra size).
A third of women now have breasts bigger than 700ml (equivalent weight of an 8 week old kitten) EACH. Held up by nothing more than skin, it is no wonder we are in need of some serious support when we hit the Zumba class!
KnockerLocker was set up by Rachel Ballantyne, a vet and hobbyist Les Mills group exercise instructor, to help break down this age-old barrier to women participating in sport. KnockerLocker has a great range of top branded sports bras and can guide you to the right one for your breast size and chosen sport.
