Mother’s day is such a special day. I feel very lucky that I’m getting taken out for a special family breakfast and am looking forward to putting my feet up for the rest of the day (I hope!).
But it is also a day tinged with sadness for me as I remember my own amazing Mum, who sadly passed away 10 years ago from Mesothelioma, a rare cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. I’ve included a couple of treasured photo’s, one of her doing what she loved most – spending time with her grandchildren, (“being a Nanny is even better than being a Mum” she used to say) – and a more professional one of her with my Dad. There’s honestly not a single day that goes by that I don’t think of her – whether it’s remembering how close we were and the many happy times we shared, how I’ve inherited her disinterest and inability to cook!, how utterly selfless she was, or how green fingered she was (which I’m reminded of every time I look out of the window at the garden she designed for us). She was a very special Mum indeed. I miss her no end.
So, I just wanted to write a blog to recognise all the Mums out there who make such an undeniably positive mark on the world, all whilst juggling family, work, and home commitments – you are all amazing!
It’s so easy to put yourself at the bottom of the pile though when you’re a Mum. So my message to you would be to make sure that you also take time to take care of yourself too. If you feel like you’ve lost your way as far as your wardrobe is concerned and you’d like some help getting your style mojo back again, I’d love to help you. Whether your a new Mum or a Mum who is now lucky enough to also be a Granny/Nanny, a first time Mum or a Mum to many, I’m offering 20% off all consultations booked and enjoyed before May 11th (my Mum’s birthday).
Simply click here to email me and we can discuss which consultation(s) your Mum and/or you, would find the most valuable and enjoyable. You’re worth it!
