Well January is nearly behind us and Spring is just around the corner, so now’s the time to look ahead to the fabulous colours that will be making their way to the shops very soon. Here’s a peak at the Pantone Fashion Colours for 2018:
Ultra Violet is going to be THE colour for the season (2nd row, 3rd colour in on the Pantone Fashion Colours for 2018 chart opposite), which is great news as purple is a universal colour that suits us all. It’s fair to say though, that as with all colours there are a multitude of shades and tones so you need to bear in mind which colouring type you are when choosing the exact shade.
For those with Light colouring try Light Periwinkle or Pink Lavender (3rd row, 1st colour opposite).
For those with Deep colouring a Royal Purple or Aubergine will look great.
If you are a Warm, true Purple is for you. Mix it with a warm colour from you palette for an even more stunning look – say a bronze or khaki perhaps.
Cools look fantastic is virtually every shade of purple, so simply pick your favourite. Perhaps a Violet if you have a bright, contrasting look for example, or an Amethyst if you have a softness to your natural colouring.
If you have Clear, bright colouring opt for a Bright Periwinkle or wear your purple in high contrast, say with white.
Finally, if you have gentle Soft colouring, choose a subtle shade of purple like Soft Violet and wear it with a soft navy or a colour that is similar in tone rather than contrasting.
If you aren’t sure which colours suit you best, book a Colour Workshop or one-to-one Colour Consultation.
