If you’re like me and have a budget that doesn’t often stretch to ‘designer labels’, you’ll have enjoyed the West Quay Shopping Centre Fashion Event on the 9th/10th October, which showcased the high street trends for this season.
Myself and a fellow consultant were there in action offering 15 minute consultations on colour and jeans (yes, there really is a style for every shape … more on that next blog!).
So, here’s a roundup of the key trends on the high street: “Camel Luxe” (- it’s THE big colour of the season …great for those with ‘warm’ colours in their palette), “Country Squire” (think ‘modern heritage’), “Starlet Style” (evening wear in beautiful plums, purples, burgundy’s and black), “Work Hard, Play Hard” (an urban casual look), “New Aviation” (have you got your aviator jacket yet?) and “La Dolce Vita” (think leopard prints, lace, bustiers, reds).
Clothes came from Next, River Island, Monsoon, Oasis, John Lewis, Gap, French Connection, Zara, M&S, Fat Face, New Look & Jane Norman – a fantastic showcase, showing that you really don’t have to bust the budget to look great this season.
